Ethics Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about publication ethics

If you suspect plagiarism in a published article, please contact the editorial office immediately with specific details about the suspected misconduct. Provide the original source and the suspected plagiarized text. Our ethics committee will investigate the matter confidentially and take appropriate action.

All allegations of research misconduct are taken seriously and investigated according to COPE guidelines. The process is confidential and fair to all parties involved. If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions may include correction, retraction, or institutional notification.

Yes, authors may appeal editorial decisions by sending a detailed appeal letter to the editor-in-chief. The appeal should provide substantive reasons why the decision should be reconsidered. Appeals are reviewed by the editorial board, and the decision after appeal is final.

A conflict of interest exists when financial, personal, or professional relationships could influence, or appear to influence, the evaluation or publication of research. This includes funding sources, employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, and personal relationships.

Retractions are issued when there is clear evidence of unreliable findings, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical research. Retraction notices are linked to the original article and explain the reason for retraction, following COPE retraction guidelines.

A correction is issued for minor errors that do not affect the overall findings or conclusions. A retraction is issued when the findings are unreliable, there is plagiarism, or serious ethical violations have occurred. Retractions remove the article from the scholarly record.
